FMA treats different target groups.

This department deals with the outpatient treatment of clients.

The outpatient client visits the FMA once or twice a week for treatment, but continues to live in his own environment. The aim of the treatment is to teach the client a new lifestyle in which he has control over his addiction. The treatment can take place individually or in a group under the supervision of psychologists and/or social workers.

Criteria for outpatient treatment:

  1. Motivation to follow the treatment.
  2. Contact person who is willing to support the treatment.
  3. Daytime activities in the form of work or school.
  4. Psychologically stable.

For children:

Mini VIP + VIP (VIP = Very Important Person)
  • Mini VIP 7-10 years
  • VIP 10 -12 years
Mini VIP and VIP groups are programs that offer support in a playful way to children aged 7 to 12 who live in an environment where there is an addiction.

For youth:

Bo ta uniko (BTU) + Bo ta uniko plus (BTU Plus)
  • BTU 12 – 17
  • BTU plus  17 – 21

The aim of the program is to enable the participant to make better choices by gaining better insight into his/her behavior based on the information obtained during the programme. The result of this is greater resistance to addiction. The information will be presented in a dynamic way, the participant will be able to identify with it and will be able to express themselves freely in the sessions. Through an interactive way of exchanging information, the participant will be able to further develop his/her social skills.

The ”Bo ta Úniko/Bo ta Úniko Plus” program is a program that pays attention to the physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of the participant. In addition, attention will also be paid to the personality and character traits of the participant that are important to bring about positive change.

For Family:

Family support
The support group is a program for family and loved ones of an individual with an addiction problem.
The individual with the addiction problem could be a client who is currently undergoing treatment at FMA or someone who has not yet started his/her treatment process.

The purpose of this group:
The main purpose of the program is to provide guidance and support to participants of the group.

Family education

The education group is a program for parents of young people with addiction problems.

The purpose of this group is to:

  • Make parents aware of the way of parenting and its consequences
  • To improve the education
  • Creating better communication between parents and their children

Speransa

Speransa is a rehabilitation center that focuses on transforming clients on a social, emotional, spiritual and physical level.

At Speransa, the client can be admitted (residential care) or follow a part-time program (semi-residential). The stay with Speransa is always voluntary.

To be eligible for treatment at Speransa, the addiction problem must be so serious that outpatient treatment is not possible. The client must have a cognitive level so that he can follow the program. Furthermore, the client must be able to work or follow an education. The client must be motivated to work on his addiction problem and must not have a serious psychological or physical disorder.

It is also necessary for the client to have a contact person and the support of his social environment.

The length of stay at Speransa is a maximum of one year.

Speransa uses proven methodologies.

Our program offers a variety of structural activities to achieve the main goal, which is total abstinence from the addiction.

The treatment program offers a variety of work-study pathways, musical expression, sports, social work, spiritual guidance, creative therapy, coaching, social skills development and the like.

Both the client and the family receive professional help.

Types of treatments: Period:
Detoxification 2 days to 2 weeks
Residential 10 to 12 months
Semi-Residential 4 to 6 months
Aftercare 3 months, 2x per month

The period of the client’s treatment is defined after the diagnostic conversation and may differ per situation. We always provide customized care.

Dios Yudami

Dios Yudami offers day care (Walk in) to chronic addicts who roam the inner city. The addict can go here 7 days a week for free meals, shower facilities, clean clothes and a haircut. As a result, he gets used to more hygiene and regularity and there is less nuisance on the street.

The service package of Dios Yudami also consists of:

  • Mediation for SVB card and ID.
  • Dispensing of medicines.
  • Participation in social activities.

Training en Voorlichting

This department offers a package of services aimed at companies, organizations and schools, among others.

The services are:

  1. Providing information.
  2. Training, courses, workshops and lectures.
  3. Advice, guidance and information related to alcohol and drug policy.
  4. Education.

Peer Education
The Peer Educators team is a group of volunteers consisting of dynamic young people/young adults who, often in schools, educate peers about addiction and peer pressure. Audiovisual material, folders and group discussions are used for this.

Target group:

  • School age youth.
  • Foundational education (groups 6, 7 and 8).
  • Special education.
  • Secondary schools.
  • Out-of-school youth.
  • After school care.
  • Scouting/boy scouting.
  • Religious and cultural youth groups.
  • Secondary: authorities and organizations that ask for it.

The role of the peer educators is central to the whole. The peer educators are selected from the target group.
